Saw this bird next to the office parking lot few days ago, didn't have my camera then.
Initially it was hovering above an open field, thought it was a kite with its wing tips flapping in the air. When it made a sudden move to change its position, i realize its a bird of prey in action ... hunting for rodents in the open field.
Now spotted at my favourite loitering place, the National Geographic photographer wannabe jumped into action. With diminishing light at sunset, these are the best shots i could get before calling it a day.

Black-winged Kite
Elanus caeruleus
Best pose with its wings wide open, too bad the talons are in closed position.

Black-winged Kite
Elanus caeruleus
Best forward wings formation, complete profile of the bird is visible. The slight glint in the eyes add to oomph to the shot. See the orange cast sky in the background, light is really scarce.
